As a life long/ongoing student Hanna studied with Leslie Kaminoff, Amy Mathews, Gary Kraftsow, Susi Hatley to name just the most influential of her teachers.

Words from Hanna
"As a yoga therapist my intention and goal is to help you find the best way to enhance your well being, reduce your stress level and find renewed joy in your body through increased awareness to breath and movement. It is through a gentle approach that you will find new ways towards strength and flexibility. Independent of age or condition yoga is always possible, no matter how limited you think you are. The start will always be at your current condition. In the midst of flowers and trees you will find renewal for body, mind and spirit through specialised attention to your personal needs. I look forward to working with you in person or via zoom!"
Hanna Back Yoga Therapist
for Sagesse to point me to and along little stepping stones, I have the good fortune to be in Hanna’s
tutelage a while –
to watch and listen, to be beside, to move, to breathe and be still, to be both challenged and comforted,
learning the GIFT of paying attention to being alive.
Thank you for this, Hanna.
As I hit a wall in my own practice Hanna has helped me develop a shift in approach to daily
comportment, with the invisible things like pace, expectations, gratitude, nourishment.
No stranger to working through hurdles, Hanna is constantly upgrading, learning and going deeper in her
We touched on discernment, the attention to balancing the opposites that are integral to our practice,
such as sitting fearlessly, moving carefully – challenging ourselves while listening to our changing
limitations – movements to calm, movements to invigorate – remembering our connection to the earth
and the sky.
Thursday night classes are sacred to me and my friends know not to schedule anything on a Thursday
night if they want me to attend!
Hanna is attuned to the needs of each individual in her class; while maintaining our privacy, she tailors
each class to the diverse physical and spiritual needs of her students. Hanna is very knowledgeable, and
her techniques and approaches are well-researched. Consequently, she has helped me to manage the
symptoms associated with anxiety, arthritis, perimenopause, and menopause. The results can’t be
matched by a typical yoga studio with generic classes; each class of Hanna’s is therapeutically designed
to help heal both the mind and the body.
I look forward to my weekly classes with Hanna and I believe that her gentle and compassionate
approach to yoga therapy has helped me grow as a person. I now use breathing techniques daily and
my body awareness is much greater than it was before I started working with her. This has helped me
reduce my stress levels, improve my posture, manage my personal health, and maintain my strength
and flexibility as I age. All of that while providing an opportunity to relax!
I highly recommend yoga therapy with Hanna Back.
Hanna Back has many years of experience teaching yoga. Her yoga style has always been attention to detail and to the needs of each and every student in her class. I have experienced many yoga teachers and Hanna has to be one of the most compassionate and caring individuals I have ever met. She listens attentively and never pushes the student past their limit.
Over the years, Hanna has evolved her teaching style to be based more on functional and therapeutic yoga movement with the inclusion of yoga mudras, yoga philosophy, meditation, pranayama, anatomy visuals and more.
As a Yoga Therapist, Hanna is perfectly suited to teach students on a one on one or small class basis.
Whether it be a stubborn back, shoulder, hip, foot, neck problem; anxiety or stress pattern, health concern, or simply a keen interest to study the discipline of the yogic path, Hanna has the experience to meet your needs within the context of Yoga Therapy.
As a student of Hanna’s for many years and as a yoga teacher, I know that you will find success with Hanna’s Yoga Therapy sessions.

Her instruction is both warm and professional, encompassing the physical body awareness as well as the mind/spirit awareness.
We all have our body issues, with my main one being diagnosed with severe planar fasciitis...very flat feet! I was advised by a podiatrist to never walk without having my custom; made orthotics in my shoes, or I could harm my feet permanently. However I have since learned from Hanna , that the feet can be, with gradual care, strengthened , so that orthotics are not always necessary . I can now cross country ski again with-out foot pain, and wear less bulky shoes when out shopping etc....
She has also taught me how to do squats safely, ...something that I have not been able to do since I was 30, (I am now in my early 60's)
This has made my lower body and balance much stronger.... allowing potential to do more activity.
I am also learning the benefits of breathing exercises to calm the mind, increase energy and reduce anxiety.
I highly recommend her.
